New Year, New Projects & Bigger Plans For 2025

Happy New Year!
I know I'm a little late on that but as always time slips away quickly and the holidays tend to cause chaos for my schedule. I hope you all had a great holiday season and got to spend some time with those you love doing the things you love to do.
Looking Back & Planning Ahead
Last July I started to really take the YouTube channel and this website seriously. For those who don't know I closed Trailtec 4x4, my offroad and overland shop that I had owned and operated for 10 years, back in 2022 and took some time off to figure out what was next.
I also needed time to get the newly built workshop at home in working condition. I didn't really have a plan, just an idea to get back into woodworking and make some videos to see where it might go.
Getting Serious
In July I decided I to take the YouTube thing a little more seriously and be more consistent with it. I also started creating plans for the projects I was building and to my surprise the videos started gaining views and the plans started selling.
Now it's 2025 and I've committed to making this a full time thing. This year I plan to mix in some larger furniture projects in between the cutting boards and smaller items. Expanding my designs into some new to me styles and pushing my own skills.
I also have a long way to go to get the shop built up to where I want it so there's plenty of projects to work on there too. Of course, I'll try to have plans available for as many projects as possible.
With the larger projects may come longer gaps between videos but I will try to keep putting out new content as often as possible. I've been shooting for bi-weekly but it may get closer to monthly as the projects take more time to build.
Thank you all for watching and for making purchases here on the site. Your support is what keeps the shop open and the content coming.
Building A Challenge Coin Display
In case you missed it, my final project in the shop last year was to build a challenge coin display shelf as a Christmas present for a friend from his wife. She showed me a basic pine shelf and asked if I could do something like that and just stain it dark but I had some other ideas.
Check out the full build video below.
